This might just look like a simple street sign, but to me it is much, much, more. I see a history of an undiversified, culturally unaware industry, but a bright future of diversified, youth-driven, new media that is going to breed the brightest minds of our time.
I felt I needed to get that out to show you my refreshing thoughts on what a picture of the ad industry looks like as drawn in my mind.
This is the beginning of my quest to acheive my latest and latest goal in life. (That was on purpose). To become an account man at an ad agency. If you know me, then you know this. Interview after interview, I hear pretty much the same thing. “Lack of experience”. Makes sense though. You have a group of folks applying for the same position, so as an hr person, you’re gonna go with the experience. So I decided to take a class in advertising this semester as I continue my road to success, by attempting to land an internship spot this fall.
It’s at The New School in Greenwich Village. Beautiful area. More importantly the class itself is amazing. It’s only day one, but my professor is an official “Mad Man”. Copy writer turned Creative director. 40 years in the indsutry. That means I will have lots of questions and will listen very close.
Follow me on my mission to greatness… I will keep you updated.
