Limitless…

So, yea… it’s been quite a while since my last post. It’s quite a funny story behind it though, and I think I owe it to you to share.
Let’s start with the “name” of this blog (and my twitter handle) - mADmanRalph - this name consists of my real first name, Ralph, with a twist of mad man which indicates Ralph works in advertising and is a “Madison Avenue Man”. Get it?
When I created this blog a couple of years ago, I didn’t even have a job or an internship in the industry. It was more of an aspirational gesture at the time. I eventually started interning and got hired at Dentsu America. Long story short, I got busy and stopped blogging.
So, a couple years later I’ve hit a pretty cool point of my life called the “Quarter-life Crisis”. It’s amazing how human psychology works, but that’s a different conversation. I suddenly started getting worried about my career, personal life, and even the life of others as I approached the age of 25. This was totally natural, by the way, no peer pressure or anything - I got green.
As the incredible hulk, I started to see things in a new and fresh perspective that resulted in only forward thinking and positive energy. It seemed as if the stars aligned in my favor to allow every aspect of my life to fall into place.
To bring things back into perspective, as a young advertising amateur I felt it not fit to blog about my career until I had enough time in for it to make sense. Now that i’m a young advertising intermediate, I’m back!
I may be a great intermediate now, but this is not a blog about the latest advertising trends or the hottest new social media platforms and how they create value for marketers - no - this is simply a blog that serves as an outlet for me to speak to the masses (all of the 14 that choose to listen).
Well… to all that chose to read this far, I’d like to share the great news and the basis of my rebirth into the blogosphere - I got a new gig!
After about 14 months at Dentsu America in NYC, I have taken a position at a major agency and will relocate to Los Angeles! (I’m pretty sure there are some legal ramifications of me naming the agency that I have not started my first day working at, so they shall remain nameless until then.) So my posts from here on out should be pretty damn interesting as I travel across the country to embark on a new life experience and continue around the world.
I promise to keep it interestingly short and sweet!
Best,
mADmanRalph
